Maiduguri Caps

Description

Our Maiduguri caps, locally called Hula, are handwoven custom made from start to finish. These caps are made from cotton threads, wool and embroidery, and are dutifully handcrafted while paying attention to the tiny details in composition.

The design (and build) of these caps is a detail on its own. From the Maiduguri savannah, the Shuwa and Kanuris pride themselves on the production of these caps. The threads are tempered and treated in the adorable weather over a period and then dyed and treated further before the start of the production. Typically, caps go through 7 production stages and teams; from the knitting of the body flank to the attachment of the roof, somewhere in-between comes various alignment procedures, waxing and fitting. The final stage of the production is the finishing when each product is individually inspected, checked and finished.

Our caps are super comfortable, and fit uniquely. The richness in color makes one cap match many garments.

Our headwear collection comprises of caps, hijabs, wraps and fashion setting headwear for both male and female.

Baytuzzeenah skullcaps and turbans are designed as functional and trendy base caps/turbans that can be worn under the hijab. Other than that, these headwears appeal to everyone who may require headwear for a number of reasons; religious dress code, modesty, identity, fashion accessory or alternative look.

Our tribal caps and hats are mostly hand-woven and meticulously made. The designs reflect tradition, and sometimes, time relevant events.
